KTM DUKE 200 REVIEW by sunil joseph


                                                            Guys, today i am going to review about one of the trendind bike in present day that is the KTM DUKE 200.This is one of the most powerful bike in its class.Many youngsters prefer this bike bcoz of its naked styling and the great powerful sound of its engine.The Bajaj-KTM launched this bike in earlier 2012 and it was accepted by the customers due to its macho and sporty looks and performance.The bike is more than a 200cc engine bcoz it delivers a maximum power of 25bhp which is huge compared to any other 200cc bikes in the present day market.The ex-showroom price of KTM DUKE 200 is around Rs.1,30,000.


The design of this bike is very attractive and it is not familiar before.We are only familiar with the naked styling of yamaha FZ.But duke has got some extra exteriors and with its minimised parts this bike attracts most of the people with its name duke printed on the fuel tank.The fuel tank is slightly uplifted for providing a sporty look and thus enables the rider to ride in a sportier way.This bike has got a small headlight without visors.It also has wider tyres which makes it look masculine.

ENGINE

The duke has got a 4-stroke liquid cooled 4valve 200cc engine which delivers a maximum power of 25bhp at 10000rpm.The bike has got a 6-speed gearbox with 1down and 5up pattern.This gearbox is super slick and has not reported and problems so far by its users.This powerful engine is very useful to riders who wants a performance ride.And thus this engine serves them the best.The bike can reach the speed from 0 - 100km/hr in just 9 seconds.And also this bike can reach a maximum speed of 135km/hr.This bike has a greater pickup and can be speed up in any gear and this offers greater confidence to the rider to overtake other vehicles.

BRAKING AND SUSPENSION

The bike has got a big 280mmdisc brake in front and 230mm disc brake at the rear.It has got a telescopic upside down fork at the front and monoshock at the back.Thus this bike bike provides a graeter safety to the rider by providing a greater brakes and suspension to this bike.Considering its safety being it has got a small headlight but this light has a focused clear light and this is also a added feature of this bike.

MILEAGE

This bike delivers a mileage of 28 kmpl in cities and can expect an increase of upto 5kmpl in highways.This is accepted bcoz of its powerful engine and mainly bcoz the main motto of this bike to deliver a maximum performance.

RIDING COMFORT

The bike has got a front biased seating position to make you feel sportier.The rider foot pegs are placed to rear to make make you feel your thighs placed firmly on the fuel tank.But the pillion seating is a bit uncomfortable bcoz of its small seats.

INSTRUMENT CONSOLE AND OTHER FEATURES

The KTM duke has got a single LCD screen with speedometer,fuel gauge,odometer,tripmeter.This also has some other LED indicators.The instrumental console is very attractive and is a 3rd generation cockpit styling adopted for this bike.

BAJAJ DISCOVER 125ST REVIEW by sunil joseph


                                                             Guys today i'm going to share the main geatures of famous bike from one of the major bike manufacturers of India Bajaj.It is the new bajaj discover 125ST.It is one of the most affordable 125cc bike .The bike has got some exterior as well as engine changes included in this new variant of the discover series.Thisbike has got a 4stroke,air cooled 4-valve 125cc engine which produces 12.5bhp at 9000rpm.It has also got a front petal disc brake which is an added safety feature.The exterior of this bike is got a sportier feel with its slightly lifted headlamps with pilot lamps.It is easy to handle bcoz of its less 125kg weight.

ENGINE

The engine is a 4valve air cooled 4stroke 125cc engine which produces a maximum power of 12.5bhp at 9000rpm.It has got a 5speed gearbox which gives the more riding comfort.The 4valve engine produces more power comparable to othe 125cc bikes.This technology was first introduced in bajaj pulsar 135ls.The bike can reach the speed of 60 in 6seconds.It is menrioned by the company that this bike can reach upto 105kmph.

SUSPENSION AND BRAKING

The bike has got a telescopic front suspention and gas charged monocross suspension in the  rear.The bike has got the innovative petal disc brakes in front and drum brakes in the rear.These brakes offers greater safety to the rider.

COMFORT AND HANDLING

With the front shaped foot pegs enables the rider to ride relaxly and the seating positionis accurate and willnot makes pain to the back of the rider.The pillion seat is wider and also stepup seat.This gives more comfort to the pillion also.But this bike has got slighter vibrations and this can be recorded as a discomfort.The wheel type is 5spoke alloys but doesnot come with tubeless tyres.

MILEAGE

It is said by the company that the discover 125st can deliver 65kmpl in city rides and in case of highways it can raise.This is a decent mileage compared to other bikes.The capacity of fuel tank is 10ltrs.

Although this bike is less expensive it would be better if this bike is provided with a digital speedometer.On the other hand it is a budget bike with good looks and performance with better comfort.The showroom price is Rs.49,000/- in delhi.

                                                             Most of the people need a bike that delivers a decent power and mileage to ride.Taking into consideration this aspect the Japaneese bike amnufacturers HONDA designed the Unicorn series.With its super refined engine and the best in class comfort attracts the customers to by this bike.With its 150cc engine in the present market it has main rivals such as pulsar,FZ etc.But with the quality of this bike it happens to be the best bike in its class.Although this bike is available in market for Rs.68000/-(ex-showroom) is nice.

OIL COOLED ENGINE OF HYONSUNG
As engine generates mechanical power and waste heat energy at the same time, they need cooling to prevent them from over heating and break down. There are two types of engines  air cooled and liquid cooled engines. Liquid cooled engines use a mixture of water and other chemicals like anti freeze and rust inhibitors.
While some other, liquid cooled engines do not use any water but special fluids with enhanced properties like ethylene glycol. On the contrary, air cooled engines use air but no water or other chemicals to cool themselves. MERITS AND FEATURES OF LIQUID/OIL COOLED AND AIR COOLED ENGINE

  • A motorbike with liquid cooled engines is smoother and more resistant to breakdown than air-cooled.
  • A liquid cooled engine produces more power/torque than an air-cooled one.
  • A liquid cooled engine, since cooled by liquids, maintains a better control temperature.
  • Air-cooled engines are fuel efficient, affordable and require lesser engine space than that of liquid cooled engines.
  • The Maintenance costs of liquid cooled ones are higher than air-cooled engines.

AIR COOLED ENGINE
Although liquid cooled engines are quite good as regards cooling, power and efficiency people prefer air-cooled engines because of their cost efficiency, fuel efficiency and low cost of maintenance. However, if you wish to avail more powerful and torque then opting for liquid cooled engines are a good deal. PULSAR 180 DTSI ENGINE
It is very interesting to know about complete combustion in automobile engineering, because in actual practice, perfect combustion is not at all possible due to various losses in the combustion chamber as well as design of the internal combustion engine. Moreover the process of burning of the fuel is also not instantaneous. However an alternate solution to it is by making the combustion of fuel as fast as possible. This can be done by using two spark plugs which spark alternatively at a certain time interval so as increase the diameter of the flame & burn the fuel instantaneously. This system is called DTSI (Digital Spark Ignition system). In this system, due to twin sparks, combustion will be complete.

This innovative solution, also entailing a special configuration of the
hemispherical combustion chambers and piston heads, ensures a fast,
wide flame front when the air-fuel mixture is ignited, and therefore less
ignition advance, enabling, moreover, relatively lean mixtures to be
used. This technology provides a combination of the light weight and
twice the power offered by two-stroke engines with a significant power
boost, i.e. a considerable "power-to-weight ratio" compared to quite a
few four-stroke engines.

It includes a number of exclusive engineering solutions resulting in superior power output and exceptional peak torque for this cylinder capacity. Its main characteristics are:

The shape of the torque curve has been perfected to make available fully 16 mkg when revving speed reaches 2,000 rpm and 18 mkg as early as 3,000 rpm, thus making the engine's performance much more responsive.

ENGINE MADE

The engine used on the Alfa 164 T. Spark is a four-in-line cylinder unit whose weight has been considerably reduced with all aluminium-alloy engine block, cylinder head, oil sump and tappet covers.
Eight counterweights ensure optimal balancing of the high strength nitride steel crankshaft.
The pressed-in cast iron cylinder liners feature wet mounting for more effective heat dissipation.

FUEL EFFICIENCY

The Alfa 164 T. Spark power plant is equipped with the ML 4.1 Bosch Motronic multi-point injection system, controlled by the same microprocessor which governs the twin spark ignition and variable valve timing Systems.
The excellent volumetric efficiency of the Twin Spark engine is also enhanced by the special straight section individual intake man folding that cuts down losses and fully exploits intake resonance for better mid-range torque.
Having all thermodynamic cycle components under the wings of a single electronic control unit means that the power plant used on the Alfa 1 64 T. Spark can guarantee-in addition to outstanding torque and power figures-regular, smooth running at all speeds regardless of
load. Moreover, this engine features particularly attractive specific fuel economy compared with rival naturally aspirated units in the same displacement class.

Which require less time to reach the farthest position of the combustion chamber and optimize the combustion chamber characteristics.

IGNITION

COMBUSTION PROCESS
The ignition system on the Twin spark is a digital system with static spark advance and no moving parts subject to wear. It is mapped by the integrated digital electronic control box which also handles fuel injection and valve timing. It features two plugs per cylinder.

DISADVANTAGES OF USING DTSI ENGINE

There is high NOx emission

 If one spark plug get damaged then we have to replace both

The cost is relatively more

You spend double the amount on spark plugs when it is time to replace them.

The engine tends to overheat and loose power at higher speeds as compared to a single plug engine.

 In case the Engine is kept unused for a long time soiling of spark plugs occur. Twin Spark system helps to reduce this problem.

                                                             Guys today i am going to say about one of the most powerful bike in Indian market The hero motocorp Karizma R.This is Indias own most powerful bike.Before the advent of pulsar 220 there were no competitors with Karizma R.But due to the less refined engine of pulsar segments the buyers prefer Karizma.http://adf.ly/4213010/karizma-r-035666The exterior of this bike is familiar and its brother karizma ZMR have got more macho looks than R.Eventhough this bike has taken most of the customers satisfaction.Saying about the meter console of this bike,there is no digital speedometer variant till now for Karizma R.On the
handling part this bike provides greater satidfaction to its users.The black colored engine and chrome silencer gives it a sporty look.

PERFORMANCE

This bike is provided with a powerful 223cc 4-stroke engine with air cooled that provides 17bhp at 7000rpm.This bike has a 5speed gearbox with 1down and 4up pattern.This powerful engine is useful to maintain low speed in higher gears.As this bike comprises a sporty and commuter looks it can be used by any type of customers.The bike enables the rider to feel confident in higher speeds as this bike uses its 223cc engine.If this bike had wider rear tyres would be nice like FZ series as this is helpful while cornering.Eventhough this bike satisfies the needs of the customer.

HANDLING

The seating position is comfortable and enables the rider to ride relaxly and sporty.The step up seat gives it a new generation feeling and this feature enables comfort to the pillion also.the foot pegs are rubberised and this provides greater grip to the rider and the pillion.But it is difficult to the rider while kick starting the bike as the foot pegs are not in a good position.And every time he has to fold the foot peg inorder to kick start.

MILEAGE

The bike delivers a mileage of 30-35 kmpl in city and 40kmpl in highways as this is acceptable to this type of a powerful engine.

SUSPENSION

Karizma R uses telescopic fork at the front and use adjestable hydraulic shock absorber in the back.It will be better if this bike is provided with a monoshock absorber at the back as this gives a greater stability to the bike and greater comfort.

BRAKING

The bike has got a disc brake in front and a drum brake at the back.it woul be better if the Karizma R provides a rear disc brakes.Overall the rear drum brakes also performs well in this bike.

This bike is available in 5 variants.
